Today a new recipe! A typical snack that is eaten during the winter months in the Netherlands and Belgium. If you have ever been to these countries during this period, you know exactly what I mean! In this article, we’ll take a closer look at how to make Oliebollen.
What is the definition of Oliebollen
The meaning of Oliebollen is:
”The oliebol is a spherical fried yeast dough dish from the Low Countries (Netherlands and Belgium)”.
Dutch Oliebollen
This is a traditional Dutch Snack, that is eaten in the Nederlands and Belgium during New Years Eve. During the winter months they are sold on crowded areas in the Netherlands. Oliebollen are often filled with currants or raisins. Other ingredients can be apples or cream.
This snack is so good, but you need to have a good recipe. An important part is that the batter should rise for an hour, so that the oliebol becomes ”airy”. You can drop an amount of batter in the pan with hot oil by using an ice cream scoop or two spoons. A perfect oliebol has some powdered sugar on top!
I really recommend you try this Dutch Oliebollen. Do you like this recipe leave a comment below or leave a comment on my YouTube Channel! I will appreciate that too!
