The last snack I described was paprika chips. There is nothing better at the weekend than some crisps. You have so many flavors these days, but paprika remains one of my favorite. Today a recipe for a similar snack, just with a different taste. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at how to make Sea Salt Chips.

What is the definition of Sea Salt Chips

The meaning of Sea Salt Chips is:

”Sea Salt flavored Chips, also known as crisp, potato chips or classic potato chips. The potato chips consist of thin slices of potato that have been deep fried until they become crunchy”.

Sea Salt Chips

The most popular chips are Salt & Vinegar chips or the normal classic potato chips. This is also called natural chips. In India this is called aloo chips. These chips contain only a little salt. There are a number of brands that sell these chips. Some of them are listed below:

Sea Salt Chips Recipe

This snack recipe is so easy. You need the following ingredients: potatoes, sea salt and frying oil.

The first step when making the most classic potato chips is cleaning the potatoes. I recommend to fill a bowl with some water and start cleaning the potatoes. After cleaning them it’s time to peel the potatoes. If you want the potato with skin, it’s also an option. I prefer the potato without the skin. Next up grab your mandoline slicer. You want the slices of potato as thin as possible. By making them thicker or to use a knife, you can have problems with frying them. It takes a long time for the potato to get nice and crispy.

When the potatoes have been sliced, you fill a bowl with cold water and ice cubes. Leave the potato slices for a minimum of 4 minutes. When the time is done, you can dry the slices with a towel. During the ice bath put a pan on the stove on medium heat. Fill the pan with frying oil. When you notice that the oil is hot you can add a couple of potato slices. Make sure the oil isn’t to hot. If the oil is to hot the chips will turn brown very quickly.

Grab a plate and add some kitchen paper for the excess oil. Transfer the chips from the pan to the plate. Taste one potato chip. If you think the chips can be crispier, you just fry them another time. When you are satisfied, grab a bowl and add the chips. Start adding the Sea Salt. Mix everything together. Taste the amazing chips! You can add more Sea Salt if you like salt!

  • Make sure to use a mandoline slicer to get the most thin potatoes. How thinner the potato how better the end result.
  • Make sure the oil isn't to hot, otherwise the chips can get a brown color really quick.
