Caramel is often seen as something tricky to make. Actually, caramel is very easy to make and there are several ways to do it. You can also easily make candy out of it.

With caramel, the taste often differs based on how dark the caramel is. The darker the caramel, the more bitter the taste actually becomes. If you have a thermometer, you can maintain 100-108 degrees celcius. Or as I often do based on the color. The moment I see the real caramel color, I add the cream.

One advantage: you only need 3 ingredients for this recipe. When I started making this recipe I didn’t expect it to turn out so well. Make sure to put it long enough in the fridge. I recommend at least 4 hours, but overnight is a better!

3 ingredient Caramel Candy Recipe

This snack is easy to make. You need the follow ingredients: granulated sugar, unsalted butter and fresh cream.

The first step is to add a frying pan over medium heat. Add 60 grams of unsalted butter and let it melt completely. When the butter has melted and turns golden, it’s time to add 250 grams of granulated sugar. Mix the granulated sugar with the butter. Keep stirring in the pan until you get a bronze/brown color, this takes a couple of minutes.

When you get that nice caramel color you can add 150 ml of fresh cream. Keep stirring as you add the cream to the pan. When the mixture is ready, put the mixture in a baking pan. Let it set in the fridge for 4 hours. After 4 hours you can cut the caramel into the desired candy size. Enjoy!
