I’ve made this a few times and each time I continue to amaze myself how easy and delicious this recipe is. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at how to make Panna Cotta.

Everyone has heard of this dessert. It is so popular that it’s often on the menu at restaurants. Besides being popular, it is also quite easy to make. The dish originally comes from northern Italy. It actually means cooked cream.
The dish was first mentioned in a cookbook around the year 1960. There is a story that the recipe was invented by a Hungarian woman around 1900. Yet it was also mentioned in 1879, only under a different name. The dish was then called Inglese milk. It was not until around 1990 that the dish became very popular, especially in America.

Panna Cotta Recipe
This dessert recipe is so easy. You need the follow ingredients: vanilla pod, sugar, heavy cream and gelatin.
The first step is to grab your saucepan and add the whipped cream and sugar. Grab a knife and cut a vanilla pod in half. Scrape the vanilla pod and add this to the saucepan together with the outside of the vanilla pod. Put the saucepan on medium heat.
In the mean time get your gelatin leaves or powder and add this to cold water. When you see that the mixture in the saucepan is boiling, get if off the heat. Remove the vanilla pod from the mixture. Add the gelatin to the mixture and mix it together.
Grab your ramekins. Add the mixture to your ramekins. You can fill between 4 and 6 ramekins. Place the ramekins for 4 hours in the fridge. After the 4 hours take the ramekins out. Fill a small bowl with hot water. Place your ramekins for a couple of seconds in the bowl. Make sure the water don’t reaches the panna cotta. Use a knife to loosen the top. The last thing you need to do is put some berries on the side of the panna cotta. Enjoy!
