Christmas is over. For me, Christmas is all about friends, family, socializing and food. It’s precisely the latter that ensures that a lot is eaten for 2 to 3 days. All the food is tasty, that’s the main problem of Christmas. Typical Christmas dishes are: Honey Glazed Duck Breast or Duck a l’orange. After these days, I always feel that I will make a new and good start for the coming year. You can of course make a good start every day with your breakfast. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at how to make overnight oats.
What is the definition of Overnight Oats
The meaning of Overnight Oats is:
”An healthy breakfast whereby the oatmeal isn’t cooked, but mixed with milk and other ingredients to hydrate in the fridge. Normally this is done overnight”.
Overnight Oats
Everyone knows oatmeal. It’s dried, hulled and cut oats. It is mainly used in breakfast. In order to eventually get the oatmeal, a number of things have to happen. For example, the grain is first washed and then removed from the crown husk. These are, as it were, the outer leaves. These are not for human consumption. When the husks have been removed, the grains are heated and made smaller. After this, the small pieces are steamed and rolled. There are different types of oats. You may have heard of Rolled Oats. These can be thick and thin and fall into different categories. These 3 categories are:
- Old fashioned
- Quick
- Instant
They are assigned to a category based on the cooking time they require. Overnight Oats is oatmeal that is not cooked, but is already prepared the day before. Among other things, milk is added to the oats. Then it is kept in the refrigerator overnight. By keeping them, the oats will absorb the milk. This will change the substance of the oats. They are hard at first, but the absorption of the milk makes them soft. If you want to prepare this recipe, make sure you leave the glass with the oats in the fridge for at least 3 hours. It’s best if you do it all night. When you wake up, you only have to take the glass from the fridge and provide the oatmeal with a tasty topping. The rest has all been done! A quick and good start for your morning.
