A scone is actually a small bread / cake that you can eat as a snack. Depending on where you live, you might know it as food for breakfast or for dessert. It is often eaten with clotted cream and jam.

This bread is super popular in England. There it is also known as British Scones. The snack is also popular in other countries where they speak English. Scones Recipe

This snack is easy to make. You need the follow ingredients: milk, sugar, unsalted butter, salt and self-raising flour.

The first step is to cut the butter in small cubes. That makes it easier to combine it with the self raising flour. Add the small cubes of butter and self raising flour in a mixing bowl. If you have a (silicone) mat to knead, you can of course also use it. Mix the butter and self raising flour together.

Add the sugar and the salt to the mixing bowl and mix the ingredients together. Add the last ingredient the milk. Mix the ingredients together until you can make a ball of dough. Grab your rolling pin and roll the dough ball until you reach a surface with a thickness of 3-4 cm. Use a scones mall to remove get the typical scones shape from the dough.

Repeat this process (make a dough ball, roll it out) until you can’t make any more scone from the dough. Preheat your oven to 220 degrees celcius. When the oven reaches the right temperature add the scones for 14-15 minutes. After 14 minutes remove the scones from the oven. Enjoy!
