The coffee’s name is actually a little bit weard, the coffee doesn’t contain Dalgona. This coffee is popular in the South Korean Cafes. Yet this coffee has become extremely popular during the last six months. This coffee is trending and has gone viral on TikTok. During the quarantine people could not longer go to their favorite coffee place. Instead of going outdoors to grab a coffee they made the coffee themselves. In this period the coffee has got the name: quarantine coffee. All the major South Korean YouTube Channels made a video about the coffee. Within a couple of weeks the videos went viral and more and more people started to make photos and videos about this coffee.

The name of the coffee comes from Jung Il-woo. A popular South Korean actor. This actor ordered the coffee from an eatery in Macau. According to him the tastes like Dalgona. Dalgona is orginally a honecomb toffee.

 

Ingredients for Dalgona Coffee

To make this fantastic coffee you just need three ingredients. These ingredients are: instant coffee, sugar and hot water. That’s it. Below we will explain the ingredients or watch our video!

Instant coffee: you can use all different types of coffee.
Sugar: you can use granulated sugar, it’s just normal sugar.
Hot water: speaks for itself
Milk: Just normal milk. You can serve the milk cold or hot. Depends on what you like the most.

Equipment

  • Hand Mixer
  • Bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 30 grams Granulated Sugar
  • 30 grams Instant Coffee
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 4 pieces Ice Cube
  • 45 ml Hot Water

Instructions
 

  • Take a bowl
  • Add 30 grams of instant coffee and 30 grams of sugar in the bowl
  • Add 45 millilitre of hot water to the mix
  • Whisk everything together until you get a creamy brown color (5-10 minutes)
  • Fill a glass with 4 ice cubes and add 250 millilitres of milk
  • Add the creamy brown on top and start mixing before drinking.

You can use a normal whisk but it takes more time. A hand mixer will be a lot faster. Its your choice!
