Besides my fascination for chocolate, I am also a fan of pasta. Pasta is so easy to make and you can actually go in any direction. The recipe must give you the handles, but you can also apply things yourself. This dish is known for not being allowed to add cheese, according to the original recipe. If you are really a big fan of cheese, you could use pecorino or parmesan cheese. Even if you are a real fan of garlic, this will become your favorite pasta! What is the definition of Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

The meaning of Spaghetti Aglio e Olio is:

”A classic Italian Pasta Dish from Naples, the dish consist of oil, garlic and seasoning. This dish is famous because the simplicity of making it”.

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

This pasta is really a classic from the cuisine of Naples. The dish is also known as Garlic Spaghetti Pasta. In any case, that is easier to pronounce. If you are looking for a pasta that you can easily make, this pasta is at the top of the list.

You can use spaghetti strings for this pasta. You can make these by hand or simply buy them in a package. Make sure the quality of the spaghetti is good. Since this recipe contains few ingredients, every ingredient has to be good. For the garlic I recommend not to use too large cloves. When you see the amount you need, you wonder if this is okay. I mainly used small cloves and some medium. If you are going to use large cloves of garlic, it may be a bit too much. If you don’t like garlic very much, you could of course adjust this number downwards.

Little further history is known about this dish. You can eat the dish with cheese such as pecorino or parmesan cheese, but as I mentioned earlier in the original recipe, this is not stated.

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio Recipe

This garlic spaghetti pasta is easy to make. You need the follow ingredients: spaghetti pasta, olive oil, garlic cloves, red pepper, lemon, parsley, salt and pepper.

The first step when you make pasta is put a pan on the stove with (hot water). Put the pan on medium heat. Add some salt to the water. When the water starts boiling its time to add the pasta. If you have Quooker at home the process of cooking pasta will be much faster. After adding the pasta, cook the pasta for 8-9 minutes or follow the instructions on the packaging.

When the pasta is cooking start peeling 5 or 6 cloves of garlic. I used 2 a 3 medium cloves and 3 small cloves. If you don’t like garlic that much 4 needs to be enough. After peeling the cloves you cut them into thin slices. So thin as possible.

After cutting, take a baking pan and put it on medium heat as well. Add the olive oil and let the pan heat up. It is important that the pan is not too hot, if the pan is too hot you will notice that your garlic browns too quickly. There is a chance that your garlic will burn. If your garlic is too brown, it can become bitter. Make sure the oil is hot, but not too hot. You can test it by dropping a slice of garlic into the oil and see what happens.

Regular Red Peppers

When you have added the garlic, fry them until they are golden brown. In the meantime, cut half a pepper into small pieces. I also used the seeds for this. I used a regular red pepper for this. When the garlic is good, add the red pepper. Also set the gas to medium / low. Start cutting the parsley. You can actually determine the amount yourself. Some are big fans of Parsley and some are not, choose what you like yourself!

Add the pasta to the pan with the garlic and also add the parsley with the juice of half a lemon. Mix everything together well and season it further with some pepper. The Garlic Spaghetti Pasta is ready to be eaten!

  14. The garlic spaghetti pasta is read to serve!
