What is the definition of Mango Mousse

The meaning of Mango Mousse is:

”A mango mousse is a dessert that contains of mangoes, sugar and whipping cream. By mixing the whipping cream you get air bubbles that provide the airy and light texture. The mousse can be light, but also thick and creamy”.

A part of the mousse is whipped cream. By whipping it at high speed, air is added to the whipped cream. This gives the cream a very light texture. This light texture is really characteristic of a mousse. You can also choose to mix a longer mousse, it will be slightly thicker.

A second way to make the mousse thicker is to add it in the fridge for a couple of minutes. Personally, I really like a heavier mousse from time to time! A mousse has whipped cream as the main ingredient. In addition, it is often mixed with white or dark chocolate. This will give you your white chocolate mousse or dark chocolate mousse. But this is also possible with all kinds of fruit, such as Mango.

To get the mango pure you need a blender. A food processor also works. Make sure the texture after mixing it is smooth. You don’t want any pieces left in your mousse. When the puree is ready, mix it with the whipped cream. All you have to do is fill the glass and place some mango pieces at the top. You can make a light and fruity dessert within a few minutes. Below the steps briefly:

  1. Peel the mangoes
  2. Cut the mango in pieces and add it to the blender
  3. Start blending the mangoes until you get a nice puree
  4. Grab a bowl and add the whipping cream and sugar. Start mixing.
  5. When the whipping cream gets soft peaks you can stop the mixing. Add the mango puree and mix it together.
  6. Add the mixture in a glass, cool it and add the topping! Enjoy your mousse!

  • 13 grams Sugar


  • The first step is to peel the mangoes.
  • Cut the mango in pieces and put it in the blender.
  • Start blending the mangoes until you get a nice puree.
  • Grab a bowl add the whipping cream and sugar. Start mixing.
  • When the whipping cream gets soft peaks you can stop the mixing. Add the mango puree and mix it together.
  • Put the mixture in a glass and it's time to cool it in the refrigerator. 30 minutes needs to be enough. It's also possible to do it longer. For the topping you can use some mango pieces! Enjoy your mango mousse!


  • It's also possible to leave the mousse in the fridge overnight. The mousse will then be much stiffer. It's just what you love!
