A cocktail has only a few ingredients and you are ready within 3 to 5 minutes. Everyone has 3 to 5 minutes time to make it. You can also choose to replace the alcohol with an alcohol-free drink. This way you can also enjoy it optimally. Today a new cocktail recipe. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at how to make Moscow Mule.
What is the definition of Moscow Mule
The meaning of Moscow Mule is:
”a highball cocktail consisting of vodka, ginger beer, lime, mint and crushed ice. This cocktail is served in a copper cup”.
Moscow Mule
The creation of the Moscow Mule happened in the year 1948 in Manhattan. John A Morgan, John G Martin and Rudolp Kunett were eating at a bar wondering what would happen if you mixed vodka, ginger beer, and lime juice. No sooner said than done. The ingredients were mixed together and drunk. 5 days after this discovery, the drink became known as Moscow Mule.
The drink was served in a copper cup. This is because of Martin. He started selling Smirnoff Vodka throughout the United States. He also wanted to make the Moscow Mule more popular. To gain popularity, he had bartenders pose with the copper cup and the bottle of Smirnoff Vodka. He took two photos. One photo was meant for to the bartender. He used the other photo to show how popular the drink was at other bars. A genius way to improve the popularity of the drink! According to this story the drink is not from Russia, but originated and became popular in the United States!
Moscow Mule Recipe
This cocktail recipe is so easy. You need the following ingredients: vodka, lime juice, crushed ice, mint and ginger beer.
For this drink they use a copper cup. I understand it very well if you don’t have a copper cup at home. You can just use a different glass. After deciding with glass you want, fill the glass with shaved ice.
When the ice has been added to the glass you need 45 ml of vodka. You can easily measure this and then add it to the cup. Then cut a lime in half. Half of the lime juice can be added to the cup. Then pour the cup full of ginger beer. Before you can drink it, mix everything well with a spoon. Then cut off a slice of lime from the other half that you haven’t used yet. Add this in the cup along with a sprig of mint. You have made the Moscow Mule in less than 3 minutes! Enjoy it!
